12/16/00: I am sitll working on the switchology of the instument panel. Just got AETI Proflight 2000 and Game Commander 2, and it is AWESOME! Works like a charm after a few minor tweaks. Soon I will write up a little something to show how I built my linked yoke system. The yoke system took about 1 day to construct(not counting design) out of PVC pipe and various cables and turnbuckles. I still can't believe how well they work! They are smoother and more precise then some in actual aircraft I have flown. For now I built the actual yokes themselves out of PVC for now(they look pretty darn good I think anyway), but I will soon build a set out of hardwood or fiberglass if I need to.I might be willing to build some of these setups for anyone that is interested. They aren't very expenive to build. just let me know.
12/14/00:
I have been working on a low cost system to integrate the buttons and switches into the cockpit using the innards of a keyboard. This will get me through until the USB version of the epic comes out(if it ever does). I have found a successful way of integrating toggles into this system, using a toggle modified to act like a momentary. I will explain more later, after I get the time to get some more pictures rolling.
